'01 Screw almost starts, then nothing?? HELLPP
I have done a ton of custom modification to my truck and had the dash in and out BUT, I had the truck running a couple of weeks ago! Now when I try to start the truck it cranks over and pops like its starting up but as soon as it does crank up it turns right off!! The weird thing is...... if I leave the key in the ON position and simply try to recrank the truck, it cranks but, there is absolutely no reaction towards starting. If I turn the key to OFF and then recrank it, it will start for a half second and turn right off. I have checked my fuel pressure(30-45psi) and the engine will run when starting fluid is used. It looks like the anti-theft light is blinking after I crank it. and... the door locks have locked & unlocked on their own a couple of times????
Do I need to reset the factory alarm sys somehow???
I have an aftermarket alarm sys. that has remote start and all those features work on the alarm but the truck won't run!!???
PLEASE HELP ME........... I want to go for a ride!

Have someone turn the engine over and grab your fuel injectors and feel if they are clicking (You might hear em also). Try to start the engine again but push the accelerator to the floor and hold it there for a bit. You might have a bad IAC that controls the Idle.
Disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes (turn the lights on after you disconnect the battery).
Turn the lights off after 30 minutes and reconnect the battery.
Try to start the engine again.
If the engine starts let the computer learn by just letting it idle for about 5 minutes.
Please post results back here.
