Power window problem

The power window on the passenger side will only go down, not up. This is from either control. I can't even pull it up to secure my truck. Help!!!

Messed with the truck half the night last night to get the window up. Never could get it to go up. Still wouldn't go up this morning or when I got off work today. So I go to the Ford dealer to drop it off, and sure enough, it goes up then. Go figure. So needless to say, I didn't leave it there.

Well it has to be the switch or the motor. When you press the up switch, does the dome light dim? Even slightly? Usually(not always) if it dims, it means the motor is stuck. If neither switch will make it go up, its probably not the switches. Try taking the door panel off and lightly tapping the motor with a small hammer. Usually this works on motors that are stuck(no up or down). You may end up replacing the motor. Good luck!

Try pulling out the switch in the door panel and see if the connectors are loose at all. Maybe even take them off and then put them back on. I had some problems with my passenger motor not working at all and this ended up being the cause. Hope this helps.

As posted in other threads:

1. Hold the switch up or down (whichever direction the window needs to go
2. Shut door briskly (but not too hard).
3. If window rolls up, the motor is faulty.

I have no idea why or for how long, but my window works after this procedure...
