My '98 didnt have the beltminder unless the person that owned it before me deactivated it. Maybe check the owners manual to see if anything about the beltminder is in there. If it is equiped with it, there will be directions on how to deactivate it.

The beltminder is a safety device that makes the dinger go off maybe every 20-30 seconds when your seatbelt isnt on. Like I said I dont think that my '98 had this but I could be wrong...I just know it never went off while I had it. Below is how to deactivate/activate it...

Dome light stays on and the dinger goes off. I dont have a door ajar light I have to OJ simpson model truck stripped out with rubber mats. So you wash the blood out whe you are done. HAHAHA.

Anyway the dinger just goes off. I just want to remove it the last cars I have had you just pluck it out and its gone.

So your saying the dome light does stay on even after you have closed the door and when the problem occurs? If this is the case then I think the common problem is that the door switch is sticking. I believe the normal cure is to spray the switch down with WD40 real good and open and close the door to work it in. I'm not positive about the location so hopefully someone else will chime (no pun intended) in but let us know if the dome light stays on when your having the problem.

A quick search for 'door switch' yielded the following plus many others which may help...
