Battery Starting Problem

Hi, I'm new around here. My 2001 5.4L F-350 has started having a weird starting problem. Basically it goes like this. Dead battery. I get out the charger/starter and jump it with the 200Amp start mode. It takes about 30 secs and it starts right up. Let it run for 60 secs. and shut it off. Crank it again and no problem, drive it around town, goto the store no prob. Fast forward to the next day or two (I don't drive it every day) and same issue all over. The battery is OEM and still has the green eye (proves only one cell is good right?) Lights are off, cargo light is off, everythings off.

I'm not sure if it's the battey or a short? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

#1. Don't trust the green eye. Have you checked to make sure your battery connections are tight, and that the terminals are clean. If they are not making good contact, you will not be able to get enough current to turn the engine over. You might try taking the truck and getting the battery checked.

Everything under the hood is like new, and the cables are tight. It almost seems like there is a "battery buddy" (not sure if they still make those) like device that is preventing the complete drain of the battery. When I go to start it, it's dead, no lights no click, nothing. 30 secs of a boost and it's like it's "reset" and cranks over with full power repetitively.

I'll look into the battery. It's been a cold winter.

Thanks,
