Where is the 5 digit code located, i found mine on my 2003 F150 under the dash , but i bought a 2000 Excursion for the wife and can't find it.

a friend of mine needs to find the code for his explorer sport does he need to take it to the dealer for the code

 

In both cases the dealer can easily use a test tool to provide the 5-digit number.

What model year is the Sport Trac? I'll try to pull up the location of the security module...

Don't know if this will help, but on a '99 Explorer Limited, the code is on the top of the computer, which is located in the left inner rear panel. On it, if I removed the cover for the jack and handle and looked up inside and kinda pulled the panel back, I was able to see it. I bought my Explorer used and the previous owner had never used the programmable locks and had no idea what the code was. I saw a 5-digit number on the computer and tried it and voila! Then I was able to program my own code, but it still retains its original code, too. Hope this helps. Later.

The Security Module (Central Security Module) for the 2001 Sport Trac is located behind the passenger-side airbag. If you're not comfortable removing the airbag then go to your dealer - they can pull it up with a diagnostic tool.

For the 2000 Excursion the Security Module (Generic Electronic Module) is located under the dash, to the left of the steering column.
