I was recently driving down the freeway on a rainy day. About an hour into the trip the warning chime starts ringing. I pull over and can not find any visible problems. About an hour later the radio and windshield wipers stop working and the interior lights will not shut off . The next day I start checking for any visible problems under the hood. I cleaned the massive corrosion from the negative terminal. Windshield wipers and radio work now, lights still stay on. Power windows dont work and after the Expy has been started the car can't shift into drive. I have to put the ignition in the "Lock" position to get it into drive. I checked all related fuses and swapped relays around to see if the problems follow , no luck. I'm thjinking it may be a GEM problem but am having troubles locating it. Can someone please help with some advise or pictures!!!

 

Your windshield is probably leaking, allowing water into the fuse panel.

Accessing the GEM. It's behind the fuse panel. As for the shift interlock being disabled: Check to make sure your brake lights work.

 

Thanks, ended up being about 3 fuses that I didn't check properly.
The interior lights still stay on.
