remote start stalling

i installed an omego remote stater with keyless entry yesterday. I have a 97 f150 originally without keyless entry or factory alarm. Once i got my remote starter installed i noticed that the engine would only run for about 50 seconds or so and then cut off when i start it with the key fob. The door locks work fine and the engine runs fine when i just use the key as normal. What is causinhg the engine to cut off at 50 seconds. It does not stall, but the whole engine shuts down and ignition turns off. Please advise. thanks

My First Thought...

Was that it is programmed to shut off after a set time. I looked up some information on the Omega Remote Starters and some do offer that feature. Since you didn't list the model you have, I don't know for sure if this is the problem or not. The models that are listed though do indicate a 10 to 30 min run time. Read through your instructions for a mention of programmable run times.

Hope this helps.

My guess is, the unit is not getting a signal that the engine is running....maybe a tach wire? and is shutting down in safety......just a guess, i've never seen the unit you speak of
