Electric brake hookup?

I have a 97 F150 with the towing package and just bought a trailer with electric brakes. My truck already has the female hookup which includes the electric brake and the trailer already has the matching male....

My question: do I still need the contol unit inside the cab and if so, is the electric brake wiring already under the dash and just need tapped into? Any info is much appreciated.

the wire and connector are there. just mount your brake unit and plug it in. should be gray cont. in center of dash with same color wires as brake unit. blue red white. not sure of other. you may want to check to see if the fuses are installed. sometimes they dont put them in and relay's. your owner man. should have all the info you need.
