O2 Sensor Location

I am having an intermitten check engine light. The code tells me a sluggish O2 Sensor (Bank 2 Sensor 1).

Where is this particular sensor located so that I can change it?

Thanks

Bank 2 is the side of the engine with cylinders 4-8, if it's a V-8. This would be the driver side of the engine.

Sensor 1 is the upstream sensor. It is mounted on the exhaust manifold. Sensor 2 would be mounted on the exhaut pipe, after the catalytic converter.

If you are over 80,000 miles, a sensor that is responding slow is likely worn and should be replaced. You should also check around on the engine for cracked or loose hoses that would create a vacuum leak though.

You can also change this yourself. Spray plenty of lubricant on it a day before to loosen the rust. It may also be easier to access it through the wheel well, rather than the engine compartment.

Outstanding, thanks for the help.

I have a new sensor but just was not sure which one to yank out.

From you description, it is the sensor that I can see when leaning over the driver's side fenderwell.

Should be pretty easy to get to.
