Battery Light/Battery Overcharge

The battery Light on the wifes Expedition stays on, but everything works fine. I took the battery to get checked and the guy said the battery is overcharged. The battery is a year old. Is this a Voltage Regulator or Alternator problem? Thanks in advance.

It was the Alternator by the way. I bought the Voltage Regulator first, not that. So I bought the Alternator, fixed problem. Hope this helps someone in the future.

UPDATE! The "new" alternator I installed was bad! Got a replacement and everything looks good. Advice: Whenever getting a new part, if possible, have them check it before you install it. Saves time and money.

Did you need any help? It was easy going in and out using the Chilton Book.

Great advice about having the new part checked out. Can't tell you how many times I have installed a new part only to have it be just as bad as the old one. Especally important with electrical as some places will give you a hard time bringing them back thinking that something else is wrong and it broke their new part.
