Question Wireless remote door lock/unlock alarm

I have one of those remote wireless units on my keychain with three buttons. The three buttons will lock or unlock the doors and sound the truck horn for an alarm. I have a 1999 Ford F-150. The remote unit does not work all the time. I think it works better when the temperature is cool but I have had it not work at all during cool temperatures. I replaced the batteries a short time ago so I do not think it is the batteries. Does anybody have any clues on what to check for or why this might be happening?

Thanks in advance.

Larry Griffiths.

This might sound strange, but I read it in a few posts.

Try holding the remote under your chin, and see if the distance increases. This seems to be a case of using your body as an attena, and might show if you have a weak signal.

Do you still have the other remote ( from factory with 2 ) to try and see if the same problem happens ?

Just trying to desipher ( maybe ) if it is a remote problem or a problem with the rcvr in the truck.

Let us know.

Yes, I have 2 remotes. In the past, it seems that if one does not work then the other will not work either. I put new batteries in both remotes not too long ago so I will try both of them if the one starts failing again. I will also try the "under the chin" thing if the remote stops working also.

Thanks for the post!
