Has anyone installed a remote start on their truck themselves? if so, how did install go and you like the results? If i get power door lock motors and a remote start off ebay, should i be able to install it myself. I have some experience with electronics. I have installed my head unit, my speakers and rewired a whole trailer. And can any place program the additional devide needed to send out the signal for the PATS so the truck will start? or do i need to take it to ford? I hope it could be easy enough that i can do it because you can get it all for under 100 bucks.

 

The attached thread may not be the best, but it's probably the longest. Maybe the unit you're looking at is listed as a or and you can ask someone who has one for help putting it in.

The only thing I would worry about is several of the manufacturers will only warrant them if they are installed by a licensed installer...
