fog light question...
fog light question...
I have a 98 xlt with no fog lights. I would like to add them. I'm not looking to go oem instead i'll go w/ an aftermarket kit. I would light to have something like a fog light/driving light combo. I have checked my headlight switch and it does click outwards so i have that base covered. I can't seem to find the light harness behind the bumper though. Their are indentical wires on each side that come off the main headlight wire bundle and wrap down below the headlights, they have white connectors but they hook into something else. It looks as though they travel towards each other. Is this the right wires?...or do i not have them.
My other question would be if i was to buy a fog/driving light kit that i did not want to hook into the headlight switch but instead used a toggle or remote switch and also could'nt find or use the original fog harness, could i then just run them off the battery with an in- line fuse?
Any suggestions would be a great help...thanks

I installed the OEM fog light kit in my 98 a few years back and learned the factory non fog light switch does not include the contacts you need for adding lamps.
Good luck with your lighting quest

I pulled the switchout on my 1998 when I installed an alarm and the switch did NOT have the pins for adding fog lights. The switch pulled out just like it would if it had fogs but the wiring is not there. Check yours to be sure but I bet it won't work with out changing the switch.
Good luck,
Mike
