Head light options?

Looking for some alternative head light options, something other than stock. Looking for someone with past experience with aftermarket lighting.

Here's my 03 Screw

I guess I'm qualified to answer your question because I've tried almost everything. Right up front, the single best mod you can do is a set of Xenarc replacement headlights. It's a full HID system and it ain't cheap, but it really works. (Ask RockPick.)

Short of a whole replacement system, the Sylvania Silverstar 9007 replacement bulbs for your headlight bulbs are a good (and safe) bet. They do a pretty good job of increasing the amount of light you get out of your current system - in the current pattern. They run about $38.00 a set.

If you really want to add output - and place it where you want, you really have to go with auxillary lighting with the pattern and power you want. The biggest thing I wanted was firepower down the road so I added a set of Hella 550 driving beams behind my grill with appropriate wiring and relay upgrades. They come on automatically with my high beams. By the time I added the higher output bulbs to the price of the Hella kit, you're talking about $100.00 here.

You can try using higher wattage replacement headlight bulbs, but be careful. This place is littered with folks who fried their stock wiring harnesses or melted housings. I'm running 80 watt low / 100 watt high beam bulbs in my truck, but I've added a heavy duty wiring harness (about $50.00) with twin relays. You've also got to be really careful about aiming here. Bad aim can lead to pissed off folks in the oncoming lane. Hope that helps!
