A/C blows cold air for a few minutes and then switches to hot.

Hi,

I just noticed that my A/C when set to the coolest setting will blow cold air for a few minutes and then blows hot air. Another thing I noticed is that when the cold air is blowing and I am at a stop, it immediately switches to hot when I take off. I am also unable to switch to hot/cold on the temperature selector. Does anyone know what may be causing this? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
C

chonky150; It sounds like you may need to have the clutch on the compressor reshimed to allow it to engage correctly, the
no switching could be a vacuume leak or broken cable to the heat
control. LIVE LONG AND PROSPER. .TURBO TED

it could be the electric motor that operates the blend door.

and i ve seen plenums that crack where the blend door mounts and it gets stuck. then you have to pull dash and replace plenum.

the only thing in the climate control that is controled by vacuum is the defrost vent and floor doors. the heat/cool blend door is electrically controlled by a motor.
