Back-up alarm
Back-up alarm
Just recently purchased a 2003 King Ranch -- super crew --and am very much pleased with it.
I had a Jason tonneau cap installed (not a camper cap) and got the one with the flare design that complements the hood design. It is quite attractive but with the raised design, I am finding it difficult to gauge distances when I back up.
Thinking of installing from JC Whitney their AutoPark 2000 back up alarm system. From what I gather it simply attaches to the area of your license plate and utilizes a sonar beam to detect distance and beeps when you have an object to the rear and increases in intensity as you get closer. It only operates whn your vehicle is in reverse so I assume the electrical connection is tied iinto your back-up lights.
Anybody out there have any experience with this equipment or something similar. And how difficult is it to access the lighting wires in the tail light where the back-up light is incorporated?
