door keypad codes location?

My girlfriend just bought a '01 Mercury Mountaineer (fancy ford) with a 5.0L (I thought they quit making this engine in '96 - cool a 302!) It is a real nice truck

Anyway, nobody seems to know what the codes are for the keyless entry pad on the drivers door. I have been able to find these posted on a sticker under the hood in the past, but haven't been able to on this truck.

Anybody know how or where I can find out what the codes are? Is there another location that Ford posted these on the explorers / mountaineers?

The module is located in the left rear trim panel, where the jack handle is stored.

You have to look all the way to the front part of the storage compartment.

The #s are printed on the module.

Or the can be retrieved with a scan tool.

The numbers are on the module up behind the dash.

Easiest way to find them is to lay on the floor on the driver's side, with your head between the brake pedal and the parking brake, look straight up, you will see a white / cream coloed module with the number on it. This is the perminate factory code that cannot be changed.
