Mirror Blinker dosnt work???

I just bought a '01 F-150 Lariat 7700. I noticed the left (drivers side) mirror blinker does not work. The right side works great, and all front and rear blinkers work. The blinker is on the end of the mirror cap (not inside the mirror).

I talked to a parts and service guy at my local dealership. They both assured me there was no such blinker/mirror combination. They were surprised to see i brought my truck WITH the blinker attached to the mirror.
I know this is a factory item. My father-in-law has the same mirror on his '00 Expedition. (Eddie Bauer).

Any ideas where to start? I cannot even get into the mirror assembly. I hope I dont have to replace the entire assembly for a burnt out bulb or LED.

My service/parts depts. are incompetent. I am now turning to the real pro's... you guys.
Can you help a brotha out?

Brad

This was posted in the general care section. Next time you can try the search function, I used mirror* to find this posting that I saw a few days back.

Good luck with the change out, let us know how it goes

Brad,

Glad that is what you were looking for, myself I really don't know I have the Muth Co ones in the mirror. Your service department might want to look at something in a higer trim level then a XL, or something newer then a 99 or 00 for these. Go figure, they assured you that what you had did not exist, oh wait..I guess it does

Get used to this type of assurance, and reaction, it seems common place anymore.

Good luck

Steve
