Thumbs down Alarm system

I just bought a used 2000 F-150 Lariat and I would like to disconnect the irritating loud horn honking which I set off frequently when using the keyless entry remote to open and close the doors! Is there a simple proceedure i.e a wire or two under the hood I could disconnect and the remote would still open the doors but without the horn honking?

The horn honking is programable. you can turn it off and on by setting the alarm to the program mode and then setting it to stop hnoking during lock and unlock. Each alarm system is a little different but I would first look for the info in the owners manual if it came with the truck. You might be able to find a thread here about programing it or ask the dealer for a duplicate alarm instruction card. you can program it to auto lock and unlock doors when you start the truck, set automatically , ETC

If you know the shop that put it in, have them move the break in lead from the interior lights to the output from the GEM.

This module has the lead exiting it for the break in, vs the way that most installers put it in, by using the interior lights, which light when you use the factory remote entry, or the keypad ( thus the reason Ford adds the lead to the GEM ).

Well, thanks fellas, but I'm almost lost even now. I just got back from the local Ford Dealership and told them to disconnect the alarm that sets off the loud honking if they would. They ended up by removing one wire from one of the horns and all that did was make the horn a very little bit quieter. Duh------.
Anyone else got any suggestions? I wanna learn all I can about this thing while I can.
