charging system and pullies

What should my voltage be at idle with the ASP 2 piece underdrive pullies? I just replaced my alternator with a 200 amp alt. because the bearing were bad in my stock one. What complicates the issue is that I accidently ran my battery completey dead before I replaced the alt. I left my stereo with amps on all night. Anyways, I just want to make sure I didn't ruin my battery. At idle, i'm getting about 12volts. Then when I accelerate or rev the engine, it goes up. Is it this low because of the pullies? Is this normal? After I installed the new alt., the truck started kind of hard the next few times I started it, even after driving it around for while. However, it starting better now. Did the battery just need time to charge? I need advice on all this, please! Should I take the pullies off, should I get a optima yellow top, or am I fine the way things are??

Cool

You'll probably be fine. Check the water level in the battery and fill it to the proper level with distilled water. Take the truck out and drive it at 40 mph or faster for an hour or so and it should charge up just fine.

I have the under drive pulleys on my 'Screw as well. I do notice the lights dim a little at idle, but so far it hasn't been an issue.

Lots of folks have the pullies and I don't recall anyone saying they had to remove them, so...

well my battery seems to be fine now. I think it just needed a full charge. I drove the truck for three straight hours on the highway. Somebody on the other board suggested a smaller alternator pulley. What I'm wondering is why haven't I ever heard of other people with the ASP 2 piece pulley set getting a smaller alt pulley. Why wouldn't it just come with the set. Maybe Mike T. can answer this question??
