Air Conditioning (Electronic Air and Temperature Control)

I have a XLT 2000 F150 4x4. Is it possible to install an Electronic air and temp control (like what's on the 2003 King Ranch and Lariat) on to my truck....is it a simple plug in replacement?

Thanks,

Betaman159

hey betaman,

Sorry, but i am almost 100% positive that it is not just a simple plug in replacement. I wish it was, because i would have already had it done Maybe there is someone else on here that has done this and it might not be that difficult to do. I want this done as well, and i'll be on the lookout just as you will

I read a post on this, just can't remember where (sorry over 40). You might want to check on fordtruckworld .com.
Buy I do remember it is not plug and play, you have to put in 2 or 3 things beside the control itself to make it work.

In the same boat

I have been asking this same question over and over with no replies. Here is what I can add - Other than the unit itself you will need an inside temp sensor (mounts on your dash cover passengers side next to sunlight sensor for auto headlights) and an outside temp sensor (tap into your sensor for overhead console outside temp sensor). As with the manual you have power, acc, ground and illumination so its a matter of cutting off the old harness and soldering on the EATC harness (4 plugs if I remember right). Once I get more tech info on what I need I would like to add one to my 2000 F150 and my 97 Expedition which they didn't offer in 97/98 Eddie Bauers. Hope you guys can keep us informed on this subject. Thanks...
