Fog lights

I have a 1999 F150 XLT and want to switch the fog lights on seperatly with a different switch. Is there anyone that knows which wires to short at the headlight switch connector ?

That would be pin 5 circuit 275 that is Yellow in color..
apply 12 volts with a jumper wire to confirm before snipping it though..

One tip:

If using a tap from the fuse panel.. use on that is hot in accessory or run, so that you don't run your battery down. Because by removing this circuit from the headlamp switch, you will not get any warning of the lights being on, and I don't think the battery saver relay will turn it off either..

Good Luck and let me know how you do!!!

fog light mod

It was suggested to me to pull the yellow wire to ground with a switch, because thats what the main switch does. This way the indicator light on the main switch will go on also when the second switch is turned on. What do you think ?

according to the wiring diagram, placing a ground on the yellow wire will not activate the fog lamp relay..
You will need to place 12volts on the yellow for the fog lamps to work..

Keep me posted
