Where To Go Through Firewall?

I'm wiring up a XM Radio head so that it doesn't switch off when I cranck the engine over and need to tap off of the aux. powerpoint circuit. I can't get to the back end of the cig. plug, and the only other way I see to do it is to go through the firewall.

I hate drilling holes, and wonder if there's a way to get a #12 wire through the firewall on the drivers side. I need to get from the under-hood fuse panel to the area near the inside panel by the driver's left knee.

I can see the 'handle' up under the dash, but it doesn't seem to budge and I don't want to break anything.

Ideas anyone?

Funny you should ask this question. I a discovered a way this past weekend.

There is a round black rubber "cap" about 2 to 2.5 inches in diameter located in the engine compartment on the driver's side. Its easy to find. Just pop the hood, and its by the brake fluid reservior. Pop it off, and there you have it.

BTW, it comes out on the floor board about 1 foot above the brake pedal. I used a screw driver and poked it through from the engine compartment to see where it stuck out in the cab. There's a flap on the floor that it comes out of.

BTW, I poked a hole in the center of the round rubber cap and ran my wire in that way.

Get some non-flammable silicone sealant and seal around the wire from the inside....
