Anyone have KC HiLites Backup Light Kit
Anyone have KC HiLites Backup Light Kit
This is the kit I have: http://www.kchilites.com/acb/showdet..._ID=11&CATID=4
I ordered this kit and have been having some trouble working out the install. The electrical really isn't a big deal, but I can't figure out where to mount the lights.
I found a place I want to use, but I don't think it will work because its on the bumper piece and I can't get the nut into the tube to tighten down. (Does that make sense?)
Anyone have any alternative mounting tips?
Ideally, I want the lights to be directly on either side of the safety chain eye holes on the hitch....
Any photos or tips are appreciated.

I just mounted some other AUX backup lights and just bolted them in to the exising holes in the bumper. It hangs down more but works for me. I didn't want to spend much on these lights as I know I will back over something offroading (as I have several times) and bash them. The bumper provided a great ground as well.
pw1981,
do you have the tow package?? i do, so i had to drill a hole on the trailer plug side (driver side rear) to mount one of the lights. the other light (passenger side rear), i found a nice bolt to use located underneath the bumper that looks to join the valley the license plate is in with the main bumper section. sorry no pic's. if you do have the tow package and manage to remove the plug wire assembly (i couldn't break it loose), the same bolt i mentioned above is also located symetrically on this side. i went ahead and drilled a new hole under the bumper very close to the plug assembly. the lights aren't symetric but they're close enuf for what i'm using them for.
the other option is to do what dcovell did and mount to the holes on the lower sides the bumper, then everything is symetric. your choice.

I used some existing bolt holes. I think I unbolted two existing bolts used for attaching the bumper. No drilling required.
By mounting the backup lights toward the center they are protected by the tow hitch and not in line with the rear tire spray. They are turned slightly, pointing outward
