Talking If you have elec. probs-read this

I've read many posts about '97 and up 4x4 F150's with no dome/no power windows/no wipers or airbag lights staying on and blower fans that work even with the key off--I've had these problems!! The culprit is the GEM board on the back of the fuse panel. Apparently these trucks have leaky windshields and who knows what else that leaks and shorts these boards out, either temporarily or permanently.

Here is the solution:

Go to an electronic parts store and buy a spray can of 'conformal coating'--this is the stuff the military uses to protect electronic components from water, dust, etc. Follow the instructions to properly clean the board and (*always*) mask off the connectors. Coat the board and reinstall.

If your truck is like mine and has a tiny, hard to find leak, you may buy yourself a lot of time and save yourself a lot of money by removing and coating your existing board (if it works) or coating a new board before installing it.
