dieing alternator?

can someone please tell me if these are symptoms of a dieing alternator?
it started cutting off at turns- left or right. now it is cutting off at stops as well as turns. i pull up to a stoplight and it dies. i turn sharply and it dies.
i have no pick up while i accelerate. <--- think this is caused by something else, but if its the alternator then so be it.
thanks for any info

Could be..maybe not.

Lets try a few additional questions here to try to get you going again.

1. When you stop, do the rpms drop off, and then the truck dies.

2. When you turn is it the same as #1.

3. If you start it ( leaving it in P ) , turn on everything electrical that you can find, does the truck die ?

4. Do you have a 4.6L engine ?

5. when you do #3, and put a volt meter on the battery, what is the reading.

6. When you turn off all the items turned on in #3, and take a volt reading from the battery, what is the value.

7. After shutting down the truck, what is the volt reading of the battery.

A few are to find out if you have either a battery problem ( particaly sulfated cell ) or if you have an alt / charging problem.
A few are to try to sniff out if you have something up with the EGR ports, IAS, or another sensor in the truck.

Maybe a few shots at these questions might help narrow down what is going on here.
