Brighter Reverse Lamps

Does anyone know if LED reverse lamps would be any brighter for reverse lights? This is actually something I want to do for my wife's plymouth voyager van. She complains that she cannot see anything behind her when backing up. If I can find something brighter than the stock lamps, I would also like to put the same kind of bulb in my truck also.

When I asked a guy at the auto parts store, he said all were about the same brightness and suggested mounting a pair of little lights that looked light aftermarket driving lights under the bumper. That ain't happening.

LED, Halogen???

Halogen! LED's are much brighter, BUT for light dispertion and actual projection of light to see where you are going, Halopgen is the way to go. We have LED's and Halogen flood lights on our Heavy rescue at work, the LED's suck! they are bright, but dont "put out" light, halogen lights will light up the ground. See my gallery for pics of stock VS. halogen back-up lights, i like 'em and recommend them. Really wanna make your wife mad? Get her the back up lights with the alarm in them! LOL

BEST bulb out the market is HYPER HID backup bulbs. Too bad they are on back order from dock strike. I am awaiting 70 pairs of these bad boys here in Kansas City.

Is the Hyper HID a bulb that I can just plug in as any other or does it require some extra components? Is Hyper the brand name?
