Question daytime running lights

Hey guys,

I dont know if this Ford F150 feature is only on Canadian models.
I have been told that it is.

My 98 F150 XL has daytime running lights.
For those that dont know what I mean, the headlights turn on as soon as I turn the truck on even if the light switch is turned to the off position.

I want to turn that feature off so that if the truck is running and the light switch is turned off, the lights are off.

It pisses my neighbors off when I hit the remote starter at 5:00 am to warm the truck up and the lights are shining into the house of the people accross the street from me.
They have actually asked me to start parking the other way in my driveway if I intend on starting the truck up in the morning and letting it sit there for ten - fiveteen minutes.

I explained that because I tow a trailer all the time, I dont want the backend of the trailer exposed to the street overnight so I back it into my driveway (front-end facing out)

I should have just told them to **** off and mind their own business. (the guy owns a dodge dakota, so his ignorance is understood)

This mod would also give me the feature of having just the corner lamps on when the switch is turned to the first position.

ANY IDEAS ?????

Thanks
Bri

click on this link it will show you how to install DRL's so just locate the relay under the dash panel and remove it. it should be pretty simple. Good luck
