fuel pump pressure through lines
fuel pump pressure through lines
on my way to the gas station already knowing i was running out of gas...got to the station...30 ft before it...tried to start it on empty...big nono ..had to get a ride to get my wallet to get dinero...got back w/ $ and starting fliud..didnt think it was going to be a problem...and hour passed after leaving my truck in the cold on empty....(big mistake ...never happen again). got back filled up on gas,,,wouldnt start with gas alone...used the starting fluid ..started for about 30-45 secs...wouldnt stay on without the fluid.. checked fuses under dash and under hood but the not the engine fuse block? checked the relay and didnt make a differnce..
NOW im thinking could my lines be frozen due to condensation within an hour of time....its 20 outside...or could my filter be bad now...from sucking all the stuff from the bottom of the tank...or could it be the pump...(ive never changed a intank fuel pump... )
I went out to az and got a fuel filter and the little tool req...went through all the ness steps to change it ....switch the pump off in the kicker panel...removed the filter installed the new one....all went fine...then reset the switch plugged everything back up...didnt work...stood there for 30 sec trying to start...tried to turn it in the off position then the on position (engine off) so that the pump will pump through...several times then tried again..no to the point i had to hookup jumpers...started it with the starting fluid kept it on then died for gas...
figured the fuel pump...
pulled the fuel pump out with about 1/4 of gas...went to autozone and tested it to see if it would power up and did...brought it back home and was very puzzled...hooked it up with the lines off turned it in the on position with the engine off and some gas squrited throguh the top of the tank about 1/4 of a coup...no is the vacum...(pressure suppose to cont the line to pump ?
hooked the tank back up..
changed out the fuel pressure regulator didnt fix the problem..
now im thinking its a fuel pressure sensor....with the gas tank alrady back into place
could the pressure regulator go out in this situation and keep it from giving pressure??????if so ill change it...also another note.....i removed the line from the fitler and tuened it on and no gas wopuld squirt through just a couple of drops that made it from the initial 1/4 coup squirt....
what are my options here.....been upfor the last 3 days.... if the fuel pump suppose to keep pumping after 3 secs...or suppose to go on with all pressure is in tact.....let me know your inputs on this.....thankyou
