2003 codes When will they be avaiable?
Im looking for either a Diablo or SuperChip for my computer code CSP2 Cant find one. 2003 F-150 SuperCrew 4.6L Anyone know if this is available or when it will be??? Can I send my computer in to have a chip burned for my application?? Thanks Brent
Hi Brent,
We're been tuning the 2003 F-150's already, but of course it's very early in the 2003 F-150 model year so we're seeing new codes pop up almost daily.
This happens every model year of course.
Anytime you have a vehicle that is so new that it's code is not currently available, yes, you can send in your PCM so we can read it to get that new code and make the Superchip for your 2003 vehicle immediately. We can make this happen very quickly, overnighting the PCM back and forth, etc.
If you'd like to give us a call at your convenience, we can go over the details & logistics with you to get that done for you, our contact info is just below.
Congratulations on your new 2003 F-150, by the way!

Mike, I've got an 03 SCrew with the 5.4 engine. Does your time quote include the Microtuner or just the chip? I'd like to get the microtuner so when I put my winter tires on 285s, then I can reprogram for them vs summer tires 265s etc. Thanks jsr
Hi arkwildhog,
On the 2003 F-150 V8's, it's just a matter of whether we have that particular truck's computer code already done yet or not, as we're so early in the model year.
What we do is to update the Micro Tuner each production run (also anytime someone sends one in with a new code), so as new codes are released, they are available immediately in the traditional Superchip module, and then become available in the Micro Tuner starting with the next production run of Micro Tuners, or updating an existing F-150 Micro Tuner.
However, those with 2003 F-150 V8's who want the Micro Tuner don't have to wait, Superchips says they can simply order the F-150 Micro Tuner right away, as they already have a number of the 2003 F-150 codes done. And, worst case scenario, if it doesn't already have the new code from your vehicle already built in, it will automatically download a copy of your truck's stock program (leaving your stock program in place in your PCM too, so the vehicle will still run!) into the Micro Tuner, and the Micro Tuner will tell you on the LCD screen to contact Superchips. A simple call to Superchips and they give you an RMA# to send it in to them to be updated with your vehicle's new code, and that happens pretty quickly.
If you'd like to give us a call with your 2003's computer code, we can check to see if it's already in the Micro Tuner or not for you, so youi'll know up front if you'll need to send it in for the update for your particular truck. Our contact info is just below & we'll be happy to do that for you.
To find your 2003 SuperCrew's computer code, simply open the front passenger door, and then look in the front part of the door frame, in the area of the door hinges. There you should find a small sticker that has 3 letters followed by 1 number printed on it, like LGA1, UEV2, etc. If you have any problem finding your truck's code, give us a call & we can go over several places to find it, we can always find the even if the door frame code sticker wasn't applied during assembly at the Ford plant or has been removed, etc.

DougS, thanks for the info. Did you get the reburn done? What differences did you notice? I've talked to Mike about the MicroTuner vs the chip.

Hi ark,
Yes, the LGA1 code is indeed available, as Doug mentioned.
I don't know if Doug has had a chance to get reprogrammed yet, but just to give you some basic info, the results on that code as well as the rest of the '03 codes done so far are basically the same as any other 1999 & newer 5.4 F-150. It hasn't changed for 2003, it's still the same 260 HP 5.4, and still tuned basically the same from the factory in terms of engine tuning & power output, and transmission shift characteristics.
I know you wanted to hear from Doug specifically, this is just a quick FYI...........
