Microtuner
Microtuner
Hi,
Been looking for quite awhile and haven't come accross these questions:
Once the Microtuner program in transfered, does the 'learning' still apply like the stock program? In other words does it adapt to different driving styles like OEM or is it a 'fixed' program?
How does it affect manually shifting the automatic? Right now this thing is one of the better automatics for manually shifting -better than some of these 'manumatics' out now. It starts in whatever gear I want and shifts exactly when I move the lever.
thanks

Hi bvhall,
You will still have adaptive strategy at work when you make the program change via the Micro Tuner. You don't generally have the idle speed & idle quality fluctuations that can occur for a short time like you have when you clear the PCM during installation of the traditional Superchip module, but you still have adaptive strategy at work, of course. Personally, after doing a quick test drive after installing the Micro TUner, I still like to go back and clear the PCM so that adaptive strategy starts again from scratch, but that is not required.
The Micro Tuner is not going to change how the transmission reacts to manual shifting, other than the fact that because the delays & retards are gone, it will shift a bit firmer & quicker of course. If you put it in "2," you'll still start out in 2.
If you'd like to go over any of this in more detail, or anything else performance related about these vehicles, please feel free to give us a shout.
Good luck with your truck!
