Micro Tuner Info?
Micro Tuner Info?
Mike or anyone,
I cannot seem to find any SuperChips products on Performance Products' website. I want to read the info on the tuner myself.
Is this the correct URL? http://www.performanceproducts.com/
Also, I requested, and recieved, a catalog from this website. the address on the catalog is Van Nuys, california. I thought Performance Products was in Virginia. Also there is no mention of SuperChips in the catalog. Only Hypertec and Jet brands.
Thanks in advance, Ford brothers

You won't find anything about the Micro Tuner at that website. I don't think they are the same.
I just bought a Micro Tuner, I really like the improvements!! Before I bought it, I had a couple questions for Mike Troyer (here's the thread https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...threadid=94167 ) and as you can see he was very helpful.
Mike has been out for a while at SEMA, he's trying to get caught up on all the questions aked here. Give him time he'll get there, but in the mean time, ask away, someone's bound to answer.

Hi RebelYell,
The Performance Products, Inc. out in Van Nuys, California is not us. We generally do not allow the largest mail-order merchants to carry the Superchips product line, so you don't see it there, or at places like Summit Racing, or Jegs, etc.
We are Performance Products, Inc. of Virginia, and a completely separate company, with our web site located at www.TroyerPerformance.com - that site is under construction, right now we're working on the e-commerce catalog, so not much more than the home page is up at this time.
People do get the 2 companies confused, for the obvious reason of the exact same corporate name being used by both companies. They got started in the 60's, we got started in the 80's, and didn't even know they existed at that time.
We do hope to help avoid a lot of that confusion by having our web site URL be TroyerPerformance.com, and over time, we'll market more and more under that name, so there will be less confusion for others in the future.
You don't mention any specific info you are looking for, so I'll just go over the basics here with you...................
The Micro Tuner allows you to upload the Superchips performance tuning in any 1997 & up F-150 with a V8 engine (including Lightnings & Harleys) by simply connecting to the OBD-II port under the dash to the right of the driver's knee. It also gives you control in thr automatic transmission models over each individual 1-2, 2-3 & 3-4 upshift point @ WOT, as well as the firmness level of each shift point, if you want to get that detailed with it. You can also simply accept the Superchips defaults for each of those parameters, if you don't want to play with all the details.
It also allows you to correct the speedo & odo for changes to gear ratio and/or tire sizes in the 1999 & newer F-150's, Expeditions, etc., and the Micro Tuner also has a built-in OBD-II code scanner, so it's a heck of a value with a lot of features.
Installation is very easy in about 10 minutes, with no tools. The Micro Tuner stores your factory program, so you can return to stock at any time by simply reversing the process, connect the Micro Tuner and tell it to return to stock. That can be done as many times as you like. Also, once you have returned a vehicle back to stock, you can then use the same Micro Tuner to go tune another late-model F-150-platform vehicle, and you can do that as many times as you like too. The only limitation is that you can only use it's performance tuning on 1 vehicle at a time. However, even after you have used it to tune a vehicle, you can still use it as an OBD-II code scanner on just about any 1996 & up FoMoCo vehicle.
Those are the "basics," for more specific info about the Micro Tuner you'll probably want to give us a call so we can go over any questions you may have in proper detail, etc.
The Micro Tuner is available thru our online ordering system, the link to which is just below in our signature line, or it can be ordered from us by phone as well.
Thanks for touching base, & hope to talk with you soon!

Thanks whitestx and Mike,
I had a feeling that the Perf. Prod. website and mag was not yours. Just didn't have the feel.
What I am looking for is documentation, whether hard copy or on the web, for the Microtuner. (Not to say your description of the product and it's features aren't great, 'cause they are!. You take alot of time on this board to inform and explain things to ppl. You have taken time to type stuff that alot of ppl would not. I thank you for it. It shows your dedication and willingness to help ppl with questions.) I bought a standard SChip for my previous truck from you here with only the info I got here from the other members and yourself. I would like to read about all the capabilities of the Tuner and exactly what it does to the software. This would be too much for typing or e-mail,,,and take up alot of long-distance if I were to call, not to mention your valuable time. I don't know exactly why, but just knowing something works is seldom good enough for me, I also have to know HOW it works to be satisfied. Call me crazy
I am just one of those weird ppl who like to thumb through detailed info on products, even if I know I am going to purchase it anyway....and I am, just have to wait until after Christmas.
I am just a little dissapointed that there is no info out there on the web about SuperChips for ppl to peruse. I have been to SuperChips' website from time to time, and it is pretty much a waste of bandwidth. Just kinda gives an overview of what they do.
I am going to e-mail you Mike, so that if you have any hardcopy info on the tuner, and will mail it to me, I can give you my snail mail addy.
Thanks Mike.
Thaks whitestx also!

Hi RebelYell,
That is a pretty red truck!
I appreciate you wanting to "know more," and we'll be more than happy to do that for you.
Just FYI in general, there is no difference in the Superchips tuning in the Micro Tuner versus what you've already had in the traditional Superchip module; the tuning and the results are the same as they have always been, nothing has changed there. What is "new" is the type of device being used to deliver the program, which makes the installation easier (just connect it to the OBD-II port) and then it's additional features, which are the ability to alter your shift points & firmness in the automatics, the ability to correct the speedometer & odometer for changes in gear ratio and tire size in the 1999 & newer models, and then it's built-in OBD-II code scanner. Again, just FYI................
Give us a shout anytime at your convenience & we'll be happy to try to accommodate your desire for more information in any way we can.
