Are there any...

Are there any added benefits with using the superchip and the micro tuner?

No can do, it's one or the other. The Micro Tuner is the same thing, only tons "better" if you don't need a custom program.

Hi Silent Bob,

You can only use 1 device at a time to alter the PCM's program. In fact, with the Superchip module attached, you can't even access the PCM via the OBD-II port. And if you had used the Micro Tuner already and then installed the Superchip module too, what would happen is that you'd be running on the Superchip module only, as the tuning instructions in the internal EEPROM are bypassed anytime you attach a chip to the J3 connector on the back of the Ford EEC-IV & EEC-V PCMs.

As to which unit is "better," it's really more a matter of which unit is more *appropriate*........................

You'll get the same basic power gains from either (though we do have a number of programs with a little bit more power available in the Superchip module for some codes) of them, and the Micro Tuner of course has additional features.

If you're going to be doing modifications that require custom engine tuning, then you'll need to use the traditional Superchip module, things like changing the MAF (mass airlfow meter), larger fuel injectors, a supercharger, ported heads, etc. are among the kinds of modifications that do require custom engine tuning in these vehicles.

If you're doing the normal intake & exhaust mods (intake kit, cat-back exhaust), and things like electric fans and underdrive pulleys, all of that can be done and still use the Micro Tuner.

Please feel free to give us a call to go over this in more detail, we'll be happy to cover all of this with you thoroughly so you can give it some thought, if you like.
