Quick ? 'bout my AF1 kit

had my AF1 kit installed for a couple days....looks as good as it works.

each time I tap the pedal, I get a quick 'ssshh' sound. Is that it just taking in more air, or do I have a leak somewhere?

Thanks....

I'd say that's normal. You took all that plastic off there. It used to keep the sounds from coming out. Now you can hear what it's doing.
I get a faint wistle while accelerating. I believe it's the air moving past the butterfly when it's only slightly open.

See what others think.

Good luck!

I purchased the AF1 kit thru our good friend Mike Troyer here in the Computer Chips section.....contact him for information on pricing and such.

Hi Bart,

Perfectly normal sound. By the time you get to full-throttle, it sounds almost like an older 4-bbl. carb would when opening up the secondaries. Usually you don't hear anything inside the cabin unless you're at heavy throttle, but standing outside at idle you can sometimes here a bit of a "hiss," and that is just the sound of the air moving thru the low-restriction intake. Sounds like everything is fine.

Hi Kevins01XLT,

Discussing pricing is not allowed on these message boards, that has always been a long-standing rule so as to keep these boards free of what the Webmaster considers to be "blatant commercial content."

That part is available from us, just give us a quick call (or shoot us an email if you can wait a few days for a response) and we'll be happy to go over the exact power gains, pricing, etc. with you on that intake kit or any other performance part.

We are F-150 platform performance specialists, so we handle just about anything and everything to improve performance, from air filters to superchargers and everything in between. If you ever just want to call & talk to someone about improving the performance of these vehicles, the best bang for the much mods, etc., feel free to give us a call, we're happy to speak with you!
