Question for Mike on Super Tuner

For Mike Troyer -

I have just ordered the super tuner and am anxiously waiting for it so I can intall it. I have one question tho - if for any reason I disconnect the battery after the super tuner program has been installed, will I have to reintall the program? I am asking this as I may plan to install a Airforce 1 after I install the super tuner program. Any info you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi T,

No problem there, just make sure you don't ever interrupt power or the programming process when you are actually using the Micro Tuner. That aside, after you have used the Micro Tuner and disconnected it, from then on you can disconnect the battery anytime you want to, as you have uploaded the new program into the PCM's internal EEPROM chip, so it's *there*.

You can clear the PCM just like you normally would after a modification, if you want to.

If we didn't have that capability, then you'd be up a creek if your battery ever died or needed to be replaced, or for any reason ever needed to be disconnected, etc. So don't worry, you're fine on cleaning the PCM later on as you described, after installing an AF1, for example.

By the way, your new Micro Tuner should be there on Friday, in time for the holiday weekend.

Enjoy!
