2001 F150 Screw 5.4
What nobody seems to have picked up on here is the fact that "knights" said he bought a USED Superchip from another member.
It is my understanding that all Superchips are custom burned, at the time of purchase, to the appropriate engine code for the vehicle intended.
Perhaps this is what is causing the Superchip to produce less than optimum results. It is simply not tuned correctly.

We had the exact same computer code. I looked long and hard for a used chip to match my code. I just couldn't see wasting money for a new one. Boy am I glad I didn't! I may be wrong, but I don't think the truck would run at all with the wrong code in it.
The only thing people aren't seeing is that i have compared two chips. I didn't jump straight into a Superchip. I said going from no chip to a Superchip would get results. But going from one brand to another- miniscule results at best. Just not this big, earth shattering result Mike tries to say.

Just installed the SuperChip microtuner ... actually did it in 15 minutes in a parking lot while waiting for my son's swim class to start! Very easy to install. Very good seat-o'-the-pants tested difference! (Would love to have a friend with a Dyno).
Dealing with Mike and Anita is pure joy! I had the tuner within 2 days of ordering! Some people can bust on the Troyer's and Superchip but I'll say one thing - you don't see a distributor from any other brand supporting it's customers, and more importantly THIS FORUM, the way that Mikes does!!! He's even helping out a bud of mine with his chip that wasn't purchased through Mike! That's what I call a CLASS ACT. It also tends to make "grateful "people more loyal to that business.
Keep it up Mike and Anita!!! (and don't let the jerks get to you - they're probably running p.o.s. anyway)!

Implying that I'm "running p.o.s. anyway"? Gee, Mike. Where's the complaints about someone saying nasty things towards me? Oh yeah, I don't bow down like the others so you don't see anything wrong with this I gather. Hmm, where's all this "support" I keep hearing about?
And yean(YAWN I bet), Bring it on anytime chump. I can take you and your superchip any day. You make me yean:o

KnightS,
Those who want to be treated like a gentleman must first learn to conduct themselves like a gentleman. Respect is *earned*, and generally only by those who know both how to earn it and how to show it.

Whether you respect me or not, I couldn't care less. But if you're gonna bitch about one person supposedly saying "nasty" comments, get after all of them. I guess by being rude towards me in defense of you and Superchips, yean *earned* your respect, huh? And your right about respect, it is a two way street. And that's exactly why I'm giving my opinion on my Superchip results. I don't believe my results are anywhere close to what everyone here expects from a chip with all the bragging and biased info given by you and others. I once respected you for your help here and your product til I tried it. I then lost respect for both because of your attitude. Just because I didn't receive implyed results and posted about it. If I had kept my mouth shut I wouldn't have felt right or respected myself. I spoke out and told the truth-if it allows others to be more informed before making a decision on which chip to buy, then great. If my truth hurts your wallet or Superchips, so be it. But you can't come in here and tell me I'm wrong or drive a p.o.s. just because I didn't receive your lab tested results. Like I said before, get Steve to give you your own forum and you can praise Superchips all you want and advertise in every post. But until then, if someone asks about chips in the chips forum, I will give my testimony- whether you or anyone else likes it or not!
KnightS,
Even tough you had the same code, could be possible that the person you bought the chip from had a custom burn for his mods that he didn't tell you about? After all he was trying to make a sale!!

KnightS,
I am sufficiently curious to know the true comparison between the Hypertech and the Superchip, I will offer to pay 50% of the cost for a reburn to your specs by Mike Troyer, provided you can arrange for a somebody with a G-Force to run and post results on three 0-60 passes on each. I will trust in your honesty to run both tests under as near identical conditions as possible.
I know that the Superchip must be in your truck for a prerequiste number of miles in order to achieve maximum benefit, I assume the Hypertech probably is the same.
If the Superchip is better, you got a 50% discount on the reburn. If the Hypertech is better, you send me the Superchip, you don't want it anyway.
