superchip website dyno report?
superchip website dyno report?
hey mike, why on your superchip website you are comparing before and after's of the chip install, hp and torque #'s off of the shift spike.
is the shift spike really a true representation of the real gains, or across the whole rpm range?

If your wondering if the SUPERCHIP actually works? Yes it does. On controlled testing involving my truck, I dropped 6.3 tenths off my trucks 1/4 mile times with just the superchip.

neal!!
i have a superchip, and have had one now for about 8 months, along with many other mods.
my only concern is that the dyno #'s are not proving it, unless i am reading them wrong.
i have had my truck dynoed before the superchip and after!!

Hi Ed,
Actually, there's nothing to know.
Jason had an issue where he had dyno'd his truck last November, back in the Fall, and then after doing a number of modifications over a period of months, he went back and dyno'd again on August 10th and got basically the same power numbers. He knew he was feeling power gains in the seat of the pants after eahc modification, but his dyno numbers months later after all the mods were telling him he hadn't gained any power, so *that* was where his inquiries originally stemmed from. He didn't know that there would be a big power difference due to weather factors, being colder in November than it is in the middle of Summer in August, which badly skewed the before & after comparison.
We went over all of that in detail with him, explained that in any before & after comparison you have to use a proper controlled format, you can't compare power runs or times run on different days, etc.
There's quite a difference in power output on a cool day in the Fall versus the middle of August, and it was enough of a difference in his case that he got virtually the same power readings before & after, but the comparison was flawed because of Fall versus Winter weather, obviously.
Very simple, nothing mysterious.
