Thanks Mike
Thanks Mike or whoever it was that helped me on SATURDAY from Performance!!
I was installing my chip into my 2001 Supercrew. I thought it would be no problem seeing how I had the chip in my 98 supercab. I got it reburned and figured it should be easy to install. I pulled the computer out, cleaned the terminals, put the chip on, reinstalled the computer. Put my battery back in (I have the ORP so I had to remove the battery) and went to start and then it just kept cranking and would never start. So I pulled the chip and computer back out (and the battery) Recleaned the terminal on the computer and tried again. This time I got it to start but then it died...Finally after the fourth install I got worried that I was doing something wrong so I called Performance. Thank god somebody was there on Saturday. He told that it had to be a connection problem and that for some reason starting in 2001 they put about 3 times the amount of coating on the board than the previous years. He also said to clean the chip and make sure that none of the coating was in the chip.
Finally on my fifth install, I put everything back in. The truck fired right up and I was off with MORE power, the whole reason for the darn thing in the first place.
So the moral of the story: Even if you have done the install before, take your time to get ALL of the coating off. AND if you have trouble, know that Mike is only a phone call away!
Thanks again!

I just happened to be in the office at that time that Saturday, as usually we're not. We do always have 24 hr. voicemail for Tech Support issues over the weekend, so worst case scenario we would have called you back. That wasn't needed in your case, luckily you caught us here so we could help you right away.
Glad to hear you're up & running now, excellent!
You make a very good point about the increased thickness of the coating starting with the newer vehicles, and by the time we get to the 2001 model year, it's about triple the thickness it used to be. Even with as many as we have done here, on the newer vehicles like your 2001 it generally takes us about 3 rounds of cleaning on each side of the connector before we're satisfied that all the CF is gone.
Thanks for your post, have fun with the Superchip in your '01!
