LOL match race hmmm that was back in the day for it LOL "or so my dad thinks so" he used to race it in the 80s, I take it out and "have fun" *wink* *wink* ... he knows what I'm gonna do with it. Once we get everything on it back in top notch form I'll think about meeting up.

Mike I want a chip for it LOL ... oh the days without computers more performance = our Holley 800 dual feed dual pumper over the stock Q-Jet 650

Hummm... sounds interesting. I usually like to take it easy on 442's cause I had an Olds Cutlass many many years ago and have found memories of that car... BUT I do love to eat up Mustangs for lunch...

When those old stangs and maros try to run with me usually i dont pay them any mind, but when I do I love to lay down 10 feet of rubber going into 2nd. they usually back off after that.

Hi fellas,

Sure you can say that, F-150aGoGo.

Beastie, instead of a chip in that thing, it's re-curving the centrifugal advance (weights & springs) along with re-jetting the carb. Brings back a lot of fond memories of the early 70's when companies started making widely available multiple spring & weight kits for those GM distributors (commercially), and all of us with whatever vehicle we had were busy cranking in all the timing that Sunoco 260 could support.

I'm showing my age now................................

Springs, bushings, weights... vacuum pots. Thanks Mike, you have re-awakened the nightmare of tuning the old world distributor! LOL!

One of my first real lessons in fine tuning was when one of the "old timers" at the track noticed our efforts and hooked us up with his distributor guru. Well worth the effort, and we learned a lot in the process.

Hi Signmaster,

Yeah, it was a bit of a blast down memory lane, that's what I get for participating in old musclecar-related posts.

By the way, thanks for coming out to Beach Ford, we enjoyed finally getting a chance to meet you after all this time!
