Hi Randal9,

There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers or so they say, so don't worry about that.

The Superchip works in any gear, at any throttle position, at any rpm. When you're in Overdrive, of course that is when you get teh least torque multiplication and the motor and it's turning the least rpms, and consequently that's where performance is the worst, in any vehicle, in top gear.

The Superchip's performance will not change as a result of turning the Overdrive on or off in these vehicles, it's working all the time.

I tow a boat now that will get up to 7500# with fuel, water gear etc. I tow in OD all the time. With the chip, I can hit an incline and the thing will stick OD down to about 1200 RPM and hold fairly well on the incline. If I'm driving 60 or so, I can hold OD down in the 1200-1400 RPM range and hold to about 55 MPH. If I'm running 65 MPH it'll usually pull the hill to the upper 50's and in the 1500-1700 RPM range. I'm in North Texas so hils and incline are relative (but we do have some).

Oh, and the last 2 weekends we took small road trips, about 75 miles each leg and got 11-12 MPG. I'd drop to 11 with the bimini left up in radar and AC on constantly. 12 MPG with the top laid down so there's less resistance. I'll be taking a 300 mile or so one way road trip in about a week towing what should be about 7500# with all the "stuff" plus the Expy will be loaded with a weeks worth of "stuff". I'm sure I'll be close to 13k with it on this trip but I know I'll shame some of the others that are also going including bone stock Expy's and Suburban's with smaller boats! I know most of them tow with OD off.

What that had to do with your question, I'm not sure.

Hi FamilyRide,

Nice to see you again!

Just in case you may be interested, we have confirmed the dates for the 3rd Annual F-150 Online National Rally for the last weekend in July, running from Friday July 26th thru Sunday July 28th inclusive. 3 Days of events including a drag strip session, Show & Shine event, tour of an F-150 assembly plant, etc.

This is all in the Tidewater area of Virtinia, I know that's a long way from Texas but you'd be surprised how many people will drive 1000+ miles each way to come.

All the details on that will be posted here shortly by the Webmaster, so that everyone can see all the info in a central location, etc.

Just FYI in case you have interest in driving a very long way (twice!) to hang out with F-150 & Expedition nuts.
