Mike,
I had my Lightning dyno'd today as per your request and it's shifting at over 5800 rpm's at WOT. Isn't that just a tad too high? Also, I made only 366 HP and 438 ft lbs of torque. With the mods I have, I was expecting more.
The only time I've had it reburned was a couple of months ago when Jim@JDM did it. I don't know if it was shifting at that high an RPM before the reburn but I'm a little concerned that it might self-destruct at such high RPM's.
I'm going to send you my dyno graphs in an email, so hang onto them and I'll give you a call to see what we need to do to insure a safe reburn and put my Lightning " in the wind " .
I know I started out with you on a conservative side but now I want to get more aggressive with it and I want YOU to be the man to reburn it, plus I want some more goodies from you.
Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim,
Ok first, just so you'll know, please DO NOT email us any of that data, as we do not download any file attachments, it would just be deleted without ever being seen. There are far too many viruses these days, and if that weren't bad enough, we actually have people deliberately emailing us viruses (isn't it wonderful to be so popular?) every single day, usually at least 2 dozen or more every day. Therefore, we cannot accept any file attachments in email.
We definitely want to see your dyno data of course, to include the Air/Fuel ratio numbers (that's the most important data by far!) so please do send us the data, and the best way to do that is to FAX that info to us at: (540) 862-9485. That is available 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week. Please also include the name & vehicle info so we'll know who it's for.
Once we get that info, we can go over everything piece by piece to get you making the kind of power you should be.
One thing to remember is that many of power level numbers you see posted for Lightnings are inflated (not deliberately) due to the fact that they are obtained on inertia dynos. We'll even see some abnormally low numbers even on Lightnings once in awhile, but usually it's 30-40 horsepower too high when run on most inertia dynos, so don't feel too bad about some of the numbers you hear when comparing them to what you got on that dyno session, ok? We can go over all of this in exact detail to let you know whether your dyno reading was roughly acccurate or not once we have that data, along with anything that should be done or changed to get your power up even more, no problem!
Another thing to remember is that many times electronic tachs are not accurate, and I can tell you that we do not set those WOT upshift points that high on Lightnings (menaing 5800 rpm as you mentioned, we don't go that high), and neither does JDM in anything other than an all-out race motor that has had the connecting rods replaced in these Lightnings. So I feel certain that you aren't actually spinning that motor to any 5800 rpm. My WOT upshifts are 5470 for the 1-2, and 5490 for the 2-3 in my personal 2001 Lightning, and my tach indicates near 6000 rpm at that point, but it's wrong.
Hang in there Tim, we'll get your shift ppoints ironed out & get your 'Bolt flying just as fast and quick as you want to go!
