Gas prices
If gas goes up much more I may be taking my chip out. Just wondering what 91+ octane prices are like around the county.
Here in San Diego it's anywhere from $1.79-$1.99.

Hi DC
Here is Sparks, NV...next door to Reno. Our highest pump oct. is 91.
Chevron 87...1.57 91oct...1.77gal.
Texaco....1.55/1.75 I think Chevron/Texaco are merging?
Arco...1.41/1.61....Have used some with no pinging..mpg dont know. Just needed alternative as cant always get Chevron when traveling western states.
Other real off brands here are close to Arco prices.
Shell was higher than Chevron...but the two local shell stations have closed.
Thats now...tomorrow..hmmmmmmm!
Good luck...OT
BTW...i know what you mean. Just do the math and see what works for you.

Last time I was in Reno premium was over $2, first time I had ever saw that. Anyway ours in Wyoming is around $1.50--and we are suppose to have cheap gas whats with that Oklahoma and Kansas give us our cheap gas back
Our regular is a whopping $1.34 I want that 80cent 87 octane we had 2 years ago.

On vacation here at DisneyLand in Anaheim. Just passed a station last night - $2.09 for premium. I was going to order a Superchip while on vacation, now I will have to wait and see gas prices in Denver first.
BTW, truck performs MUCH better at sea level than at 5200 feet!

About $1.60 here in Va Beach.....
I have noticed that in this area, premium usually stays about 20 cents more a gallon than reg, regardless of what the reg price is at. So really the difference as a percentage decreases when fuel prices go up.

Here in Virginia, we're paying $1.29-$1.49 for 93 octane premium, depending on brand. Citgo is doing the best job right now, at about $1.34 a gallon, good clean fuel & great energy content. Texaco & Amoco running $1.49 a gallon for 93 octane.
However, in Virginia we have everything from the suburban Washington D.C. or "Northern Virginia" area, where everything is extra-expensive and has the highest gas prices, and then on the other extreme, we have our prices out here in the western part of the state, which are anywhere from 15-50 cents a gallon less than Northern Virginia................
The reality is that no matter how high gas prices go, it doesn't cost any more to run the Superchip when gas it at $2 a gallon than when gas is at $1.30 a gallon, because the price delta between regular and premium stays the same, an average of about 20 cents per gallon. Very few people are paying more than a few bucks a week extra ($2-$4) to run on premium with the Superchip all the time. The actual cost to use the Superchip averages no more than $100 per 10,000 miles, assuming a 20 cent per gallon cost delta and a 50-50 mix of city & highway driving. Not many people actually do the cost analysis (most of us are too busy!), and just see the cost difference at the pump per gallon, and assume they're spending a lot more money for gas. But the reality is that for someone driving 15,000 - 20,000 miles per year, it's no more than $150-$200 per year more for gas to use the Superchip and run premium all the time. For most that's not enough to affect their budget, and well worth the performance and driveability improvements. For a few, or for those who drive a lot of miles, or perhaps do all city driving, etc., that can skew those numbers a bit. Just FYI....................
