Installed my chip
Installed my chip
Installed my superchip today. Everything went just fine.
Noticed a difference in the shifting but not sure if performance
is different. Installation was a snap. I don't know if I was imaging this or not. It seems that it took less throttle to maintain a steady speed of 55mph. Thanks Mike.

Hi Jungleman,
Thanks for your post!
Your comment about noticing it taking a bit less throttle to maintain the 55 mph speed is accurate, and gets right to the heart of the matter of power gain. It is the increased torque (and horsepower) that allows you to use less throttle to achieve & maintain the same velocity as before, on the factory program.
In terms of what to expect from the Superchip, the most accurate way to describe that, I think, is to say that the vehicle will feel like you have about 10% more motor under the hood, as the Superchip does work all the time, at any throttle position, as well as at any rpm. A 10% power gain is great for that price of course, but 10% more power will not turn most 2-ton+ trucks into tire-shredders.
It can be confusing sometimes in terms of what to expect, as we do see a number of posts here from people installing it who say "WOW" & use other superlatives. That's really just the difference in people and their various perspectives, combined with all teh potential difference in weight in these F-150's as there can be over 3000 lbs. of weight difference in teh variuous configurations, so how much quicker each truck is will vary based on it's weight, ultimately, it's always about power-to-weight, basically. Almost everytime somebody posts a "WOW" type of result, we'll see someone else a few weeks later who thinks it should have done more for them, because they are expecting what they think should be a "WOW" type of result for them too.
You will also notice that it will feel stronger as you accumulate more miles, it will take 350-500 miles to get the full effects from the Superchip. As long as the ECU is fully cleared after installing the Superchip, it goes to work right away, and you'll get most of it's effects within 50 miles or so. To get 100% of it's effect will take a few hundred miles, as your ECU adapts to it's new program, and as you get all of the 87 octane gas worked out of the system, assuming you were running regular gas before the Superchip.
Just wanted to drop yo ua quick line to give you some background info in case it might be helpful perhaps, etc., & thanks again for your post!
