does anyone have this combo on their 5 dot 4? If so, how do you like it? Any problems? Any warnings?

I've got a 2000 F150 excab longbed kenne bell supercharged 5.4 with a 100 NOS shot and JDM programmed superchip. The chip is a flip chip because I need TWO settings. Side one is programmed for aggressive street and side 2 has 3degree timing difference with more fuel flow. I believe if you were to use a single stage chip...you would sacrifice street performance as you would not be using the NOS all the time and you need seperate air/fuel settings. Also, to change from side one to side two, you must physically turn of truck , remove key, change switch settings, and restart . Using NOS on side one would prolly make my internals > external! I'd love to have the NOS available all the time, especially at stoplights with reving 'rivals'...but basically, the NOS for me is just for the track and my Blower setup and engine mods and tuning usually do the trick anyway.

Hi Fordtrk,

We have tuned for nitrous in many of these vehicles, and the single most important thing to remember is to go with a "wet" system, one that augments fuel delivery. These vehicles do not have anywher near enough injector capacity to run "dry" nitrous, and the wet systems are much more tunable.

This of course has to be done in the 2-program Flip Chip.

You'll also need to be careful with how much nitrous you use, as these non-Lightning 5.4's do not have forged pistons, and they have a very long connecting rod, 6.75", with a less than optimal rod/stroke ratio, so you need to keep the rpms reasonable as well.

If you'd like to go over this in more detail, feel free to give us a call.

Good luck!
