Post Hi Mike T

Hi Mike,
It's been quite a while since I have been to F-150 online and I got to get back here more often. Hope all is good on your end.

I talked to you on the phone about 6 months or so ago about a problem I was having with my chip, a problem I believe I have caused to the computer by scraping off to much metal flake from the contacts. I did have the contacts soldered( it does look to be a good job) but I still get a *no start*.

Finally, I have some free time to send my computer & chip in to you to have it checked out. I will contact you Monday the 18th and make arrangements to send it in.

Thanks!
MGD1

PS My chip worked fine for about six months of so after I first intsalled it. Then I got a *no start* and tried to fix it. Thats where my problems began. I could screw up a one car funeral.

Hi MGD1,

Hey, it has been awhile, it's good to see you again.

If it's been 6 months, it's been too long, you're right!

Usually when you lay a nice coating of solder down over the contacts, that takes care of the basic problem of having gone a bit too far and having exposed copper, unless the contacts were severely damaged, or if the solder is overlapping somewhere, etc.

We'll talk on the phone about this and see what needs to be done to get this taken care of. I think that was you that called yesterday while I was out, so I'll get back to you of course.

In the meantime, we hope you'll drop by F-150 Online once in a while!
