Talking Screwin with a Chevy

Well tonite I got to finally test out my mods against a Chevy.

light to light fun........ not on a real strip so I know there are variable present

it was a late model Chevy Silverado with smaller aftermarket tires & dual exhaust..... past that I do not know.

I was on a divided hwy 4 lane with lights about every mile or so

he came out of nowhere and pulled beside .....slowed down... and the next light i half hartedly stepped on it... and we were off... up to about 70....then eased of.....

WELL at the next light we were primed & ready. 3...2...1...GREEN
overdrive off... and pedal down......... got him off the line...and very slowy till about 60 edged ahead....then his tranny shifted...and the superchip wound me out a bit more opening the gap....... took it to about 85 and then eased up .....

at the next light he gave me the palms up ... like that is all he had ... and we went our ways......

My wife was a little antsy....but a good sport....... as the road did not have other traffic present.....

made me feel good..... to know the mods worked... then I cranked up some tunes and enjoyed the sound system mods with a big smile on my face

till next time .... and no saftey sermons.... I pick my places carefully

Mike

Hi Mike,

That's a pretty SuperCrew you have there.

Glad you had some fun with that Chevy & your wife didn't freak out.

I think I created a bit of a monster (so to speak) with my wife, I have always included her in all our hot-rod shopping & modifying, etc. I taught her how to speed-shift & a few other little tricks over the past few years. She made her drag strip debut at last year's Rally; she didn't much like the idea of spending a day at the drag strip, but the first time she heard the engine of an 8-second car she fell in love with the strip. Since then, she ran over 150 mph at Charlotte Motor Speedway a few months ago when she did the Richard Petty driving experience thing (not hokey at all & well worth the expense). When she gets behind the wheel, she doesn't hesitiate, you'd think she was a born hot-rodder these days. I'm glad I married her!!

Have fun,

What are the chances that we see Anita run the Lightning at VMP this year?

Nice kill Mikebike. I have been on the look out for someone to run but I haven't had any real competition. There have been a couple that gave me the chance to exercise the new found power. I can't wait for this years Norfolk rally!

Hi Wittom,

She's no stranger to driving our Lightning, and we do want her to take it down the strip; in reality it will be more a matter of time available at that particualr event. If there is time, sure, she'll make a pass or 2 in the Lightning, we need to get more of our wives & girlfriends involved!
