Hi Deacon

That can happen, i know. I marked mine...

My flipchip is for 87/92oct.....#1 for 87....#2 for 92oct.

So...the way my switch is mounted (under dash) looking at it...the #1 position is right side...flip switch to left side for #2 (pointing towards drivers side) My chip/switch about 1 yr. old.

Hope that helps....

Good luck....OT

Thanks guys
Sorry, I should have mentioned that my chip has a towing and a performance (Supercharger) program.

Genkend,
so based on your instruction sheet, the non slotted side should be my performance program.

If you all don't mind, I would like to add a question. I think I have seen tha answer before, but without search it's just too hard to find.

Where do you all locate the switch? Do you drill the visable interior parts?

I just got a flip chip and will be installing it a week from today (Saturday). Just trying to get an idea of what I might do.

Look on the far right side just under the glove comparment. Thee should be a ready made hole there already.
Now tell me is your performance program on the non-slotted side

My flip chip has program 1 on the slotted side. If people are saying that side 1 is the non performance side, then, well I don't know. All I know is that (looking at the Superchip, not installed) the slotted side has the 1 and the other has the 2.
I am now using a single program Superchip. I don't know as much as I should about the flip chip.

HI Everyone,

OK, we'll clear this up very quickly for all of you with Flip Chips...............

The highest performance program is generally going to be on Side 2, and the more conservative program on Side 1. There are some exceptions, but those people know who they are, those who have things like identical programs except for a different winter and summer tire size, or who made a *specific* request to have the higher-performance program on Side 1 (extremely rare, none anytime lately), etc.

You can also simply look at your documentation, as each Flip Chip comes with a separate sheet that shows pictures of the toggle switch, shows which is Side 1 (this is the very sheet that tells and hows you that the slotted side of the switch "barrel" mentioned in other posts in this thread is the "home" position, meaning Side 1, the least modified or lower performance program), which program is on which side, etc. all of that info is included with each Flip Chip when shipped.

With regard to where to mount the switch, on later F-150's & Expy's, roughly about 2000 & up, there is a nice aluminum tab on the passenger side under the dash, with a perfectly sized hole already in it, allowing for a 30 second switch installation. Usually by 2001 they all have that, earlier years are spotty on having that tab. Another great location is inside the glove compartment, near the switch for the interior lamp for the glove box. Some people extend the lead and mount it in the ashtray or over on the drivers side, in a custom overhead console, you name it, people have put it there. Most just go for a quick easy installation on the passenger side under the dash, where passenger knees, ankles, etc. can't hit it.

Have fun!

Hi Deacon,

Ahh, you have a custom program setup for that supercharger.

Yes, in those setups there is going to be a very noticeable difference in power between those 2 programs, the full performance program is going to have about 25-30 HP more than the towing or bad gas program, so it's no wonder you like it much better now!

Have fun!
