Thanks, Mike.

I am looking forward to installing the chip as soon as it arrives. Next, I need recommendations for a mellow and inexpensive cat-back (considering Gibson as of now).

Congrat's on the chip. You'll like it!

I don't know what others will say, but for exhaust I went with a Flowmaster and custom bent pipes for two twenty. I checked into the Gibson. I liked the looks of the dual sport side.

Good luck.

Tom

hey

jeff,

it depends what you are looking for. like what kind of sound, looks, and how much you care about performance. i have a gibson supertruck. i picked it for its looks and sound. if i was hell bent on performance i would be able to gain a few more hp by going with the swept side. (makes the most hp out of the gibson line i believe) actually if i am not mistaking, magnaflow gets best results regarding hp. as far as sound, supertruck is pretty loud, as are flowmaster 40 series. i would suggest the swept side for a mellow sound. my brother has it on his truck and it is really nice. not that much louder than stock, but noticeable. but anyways, i have a gibson, i like it...just make sure when you get your exhaust you look into it plenty. make sure it is what you are looking for.

A

p.s. try to get something that is stainless steel instead of aluminized steel. i got aluminized and i think i will regret it in the long run. good luck with you catback purchase.

Hi Jef150,

We recommend the Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system, as it gives the absolute best results we've evern seen in these vehicles. It's the only one we've seen actually increase torque at virtually any throttle position or rpm.

Made of T-304 stainless steel, the Magnaflow gave the highest peak horsepower gains in addition to the results in torque, a clear showing of superior flow engineering.

Gibson's systems are OK, the one that loses the least amount of torque in the F-150 is the Swept Side model, which Gibson says is flow engineered for towing.

The Magnaflow has a great sound, muscular but not too loud, and uses extremely high quality materials. It costs about the same as Gibson's stainless steel systems, a bit more than their aluminized systems.

We've gone over the Flowmasters, the Dynomax Super Turbos, the Gibsons, and most of the "name brand" cat-back systems available for these trucks, and prefer the Magnaflow based on it's results & quality of materials.

Would you be happy with the Gibson? Probably, a lot of people are! For a time, we even recommended their Swept Side system until we came across how well the Magnaflow did, so you'd probably be happy with the Gibson if you go that route.

If you'd like to go over this in more detail, get pricing, etc. please give us a shout, our contact info is just below.
