Hi Jim,

Thanks for the vote of confidence, that's very kind of you.

Yes, you can use a shift kit with your Superchip if you're looking for a really hard shift. What we generally advise is to use the Superchip for at least a month before deciding to use the shift kit as well, and then if you do decide to use a shift kit, get a kit like the Bauman Engineering kit that has 5 different levels of firmness (or the Trangso kit with it's 3 levels of firmness), and go easy at first, don't go right to level 4 or 5.

You can always go back in and open thigns up some more for increased firmness with a multi-level shift kit, but if you go too far to begin with, you can't close things back up, so then a custom program has to be done to try and back off the firmness.

It might not be a bad idea to give us a call if you get a chance and we can go over this with you in more detail, and give you some more specific advice depending on exactly which model of automatic tranny you have, if you'd like to.

We are not doing speedo corrections in the program before the 1999 model year, as up thru and including the 1998 model year, you can do this yourself much easier & cheaper! All you need to do is to use teh correct reducition gear in the tailshaft of your transmission to recalibrate your speedometer for those 4.10 gears, and Ford makes the perfect reduction gear for that, available at any Ford parts counter for well under $20.

Good luck!
