Superchip Installed

The headlights are on for the 5 minute memory clear thing. Then it's off to get gasoline. Just 5 minutes and I can see the Superchip in action on my 2002 F150 SuperCrew.

P.S. I ordered this from Mike Troyer over the phone and had a superb experience.

What do you mean the "chirp" as in the tires chirp when you step on it or is it a bad thing?

I will let everyone know how my install goes this weekend.

serpintine belt slips for a split second when shifting at high RPM's. It sounds like a quick "chirp". Others had reported this (in this forum) and Mike stated this was normal.

Hi svtoby150,

Yep, that's it.

This is cured by one of a few things, such as checking the tensioner, using belt dressing, or replacing the belt, and usually replacing the belt works best. The original belt doesn't have as good adherence, as it has to wear off the paint from the new pulleys, etc., and sometiems it's just stretched enough from normal wear anyway. Sometimes the belt tensioner is not adjusted properly, but it doesn't give you any symptom until you have the increase power combined with the quicker shifts with the Superchip, and then the serpintine belt slips for just a second during a full-throttle 1-2 upshift.
